To Sleep...Perchance To Dream
Or in my case to sleep and definitely dream. And not your average, strange but nice dream but one of those "Man that was creepy but can be used as a story dreams." <-- I have these a lot it seems.
I, of course, am aware that this is a symptom of my increasing lack of sleep recently. Something I hope to remedy soon as my evenings are usually spent yawning...
Yesterday I dreamt Firefly dreams. Putting in a new section to the 'how they met Jayne' scene that was firefly through and through except Inara had a tweety-pie badge attached to her hair. Also the Wash - Kaylee scene was like something out of a bad fanfic...
Today I got a whole weird timetravel, ghost, saving souls thing. Which given adequate time I might make into a short story, but until then I will note down here so I don't forget it. *Shudder* <--it was creepy while I was dreaming it. I don't often get that creepy...
~~~~~
It started with my dad taking Linette and I to France, via the tunnel and underground station (more on that later). The actual dream part started with us under the Eiffel tower paying to go up the whole thing. To make matters normal in dream terms Linette was there but I never actually saw her. I think my brain assumed she went up ahead as dad paid and we started to go up the tower.
Note: I know the entire base of the eiffel tower is metal and all but this is a dream so it ignored that.
I walked under the four 'leg' sections of the tower and found the stairs at the back of the stuff underneath. I pointed out to dad that "I would only go as far as my virtigo let me" (I have no issue with heights as such but apparently my dream self does). Then we started up the steps that seemed to lead to a ricketty attic section then into a room which had walled off sections for beds and the corridor was just a set of curtains between these rooms. Should be noted that at this point dad is no moving out of my view and is no longer 'with me'.
That and I suddenly realise I can see people in the rooms, sleeping and sitting there. Several of them watch me as I walk past and my brain is getting nervous as they are all looking at me strangely. I head straight past another set of rooms and continue up to another floor only this one is clear and doesn't have any sections. There is a young woman there who sees me and smiles. She seems to be wearing a uniform of some sort but I can't place it. Short dark hair covers her head flopping slightly into her eyes. She asks me to help her and follows me but never touching. My daughter was taken can't I help her. She knows where her daughter is but needs someone to tell herself!!! At this point my logical brain hung a left as I went right...
I agree to help her and she says she works at london underground (hence the uniform). I ask her her name and she states that she can't tell me as everyone she tells forget her name once they have left. I then notice that on her shoulder (don't ask me why there) there are several words written. I look closer to find that they are all dates with Alison Make Up written over and over. One date sticks in my mind 1941. (my brain completely ignores the wartime implications of this date). I say Alison? She smiles and nods and I leave to continue up the tower.
Only to be stopped by a young woman who looks haggard and, well, down right tortured with a round face and wavy wet-dry blond hair. She seems to grab at me and shouts that I can't let this happen to her. She was just a child, I can't let that child become her. I am utterly confused and move straight past her to the door and continue up the steps only to freeze in utter fear as the steps become wrought iron and are seethrough and I can see all the way down... I look up at dad (last time I see him for rest of dream) and state I am not going any further.
Right cue strange and random scene change.
I'm walking down a dark street with two people who are arguing. I'm trying to convince the first that I know what happened to her daughter (she is much older than the woman I saw) and her husband is shouting that she can't go with me not to trust me. It was all so long ago. She ignores him and joins me in wondering onto a sort of abandoned carpark. Where the weirdness just continued as three young lads in a strange car come and chase us and well somehow some sort of machine latches onto the woman who becomes her young self and the lads run for it. She shouts at me for ruining her life or some such before running away.
I am utterly confused as another car screeches to a halt near me. The lads are on their way back and I get the feeling they aren't that nice. The door opens and it turns out to be the blond woman who looks at me smiles and says "Get in. You must have succeeded or I wouldn't be here".
Cut strange cut scene - The woman now young finds herself in the room replaying what happened when her daughter dissappeared. But this time she seems to move with a feeling of understanding and determination. She turns to see a young man who seems to have a dark aura. She glares at him and shouts "You." He seems very surprised and not so happy.
Cut back to me asking the blond if she is Alison. I see a flash of the haggard face next to a young child version of the same. She smiles and says "Yes." My dream cuts again to the three lads who seem to be mounting a compaign for some reason. Two of them have vein like patterning on their faces as they swear they will not let me win.... End dream as I wake
Now that was my weird and creepifying dream.
My dreams have been varied as well. Though I never get round to turning any of them into stories. Maybe I should.
