Self Locking Locks

So another morning of frost sees me go out to the car early to scrape windows. I unlock the doors and then find to my horror that none of the doors wish to open! Ok no panicking, just get some warm water and hope you can open fast enough that it hasn't refrozen.
Armed with my jug I return to car to find it locked. Brain at this point goes "I don't remember locking it?" but I put it down as one of those lapses I get. Pour warm water, unlock pull door, Success! I now have the back door open if not all the others. I then foolishly shut the door. Damn can't open it again. Poor more water over door and tug but to no avail.
Now the water has removed the ice from the window making it possible for me to notice that it is in fact locked again. Hang on a moment!? I definitely unlocked it this time. Queue experiment. Unlock, watch carefully. Locks open and then lock again a few seconds later! So quick thinking I unlock and pull open back door. Clamber in and turn on engine to heat up car. Momentary panic as I realise all doors locked and if the one that is open shuts I will lock keys in car. I wedge it open.
I then hit on the idea of trying to unlock it from passenger side. Low and behold it turns out this lock is slightly frozen so would not stay unlocked. Having now turned it it opens fine and I can breath a sigh of relief. After I've climbed into driving seat from back as usual.
