75 cm might not seem that much, but as two hill walkers have proved it is the difference between a mountain and a really rather large mole hill.

A delayed Christmas in the Olsson family has now come to an end. In the scheme of things there is nothing quite like ignoring calendar dates and setting your own day for the fun events.

Feeling random and funny. I've just spent the past 20mins making charts of my step counts so I know what my average is and can see the improvements. Apparently since I got my new step counter (09/01/07) I've averaged around 3500 steps per day. Not too bad but it could definately improve.

For your general amusement I found this article about the link between attractiveness and how we move. Walk yourself sexy ;)

I just love the whimsy of that last line.

I went home to my mum's this weekend for a roast dinner, or rather Two roast dinners.

When the cat's away the even bigger cat will play. ;) With the house to herself my mum was taking full opportunity to have a meat fest. We had roast leg of lamb on Saturday and a chicken brick on Sunday. All very lovely.

To offset this my mum said we would go for a walk and she'd supply the entertainment...a black labrador puppy called Tom. I was warned that he was a bit enthusiastic and tended to jump up if you weren't careful. At the beginning of the walk things went well, with mum teaching Tom to walk at her heel. However partway up the hill we got the chance to really say hello to him. And I ended up getting a dog to the ribs. I immediately forced him off me and told him to sit. It was with a rather pained "good boy" that I thanked him for listening to me. Ah dog training always fun.
The walk was lovely, if a little wet and I felt horribly unfit as my throat went sore and we had lovingly forgotten to bring a drink. By the end of it I was back to my normal capable self but my trainers were a little soggy.

On the Sunday, with rain hindering a repeat of the walk as I had no rain clothes or drier shoes, mum decided to take advantage of the prescense of free manual labour. So we started to remove a suspended cupboard from the wall. I can say that I admire Atlas (and weight lifters) for the strength of his (their) shoulder muscles. It seriously hurts to hold something above your head. Once it was off the wall it was bundled into the attic on the most riccetty metal ladder I have ever seen. At least with it off the wall already, her other half can't protest...It's too late...(note the cupboard was already empty).

Now if I had just actually had the time to do what I still needed to do then it would have been a perfect weekend...

Right I have some good news and some bad news. Unfortunately there is no punchline.

I'm bouncy because for the first time since starting the 10000 step challenge I actually managed it. 10055 steps! Good going at Erddig as we got lost in the Big Wood <-- see the ingenuity when naming. Almost every turn, we were going in the opposite way to the arrows.

The bad news is I'm unlikely to get to 10000 steps tomorrow unless I can work out how to code while walking. Seems I have two extra browsers to recode for. Mind you I think some of the problems would have been solved if I'd done it correctly to start with. Well that's what you get for learning as you go along. But at least the next site I do will be better from the word go and will work in all browsers at once with minimum fuss.

Teas so far: Three. One of them a lovely flavoured easter tea picked with my new randomization method. Picking a number from 1 to 40 and counting the tins until I get to it.

So having sold my pedometer to mum as she broke hers I haven't moved much this week. What with the website to finish and work I barely got out of my seat and my computer screen became to familiar.

So yesterday I took matters into my own hands and went to replace the pedometer. I still spent most of the day stationary but at least I had one.

Today started a bit better though I ended up being online all morning the website is visitable (though mac users beware it still needs tweeking.)

I left for town in the car unfortunately as I had time constraints. RPG subs had to be paid and I wanted to be early. 40mins in a queue and I can tell you that I can personally vouch for 7 members being paid up. The downside is I paid for 3, yes 3, of them.

I then walked through town and did my shopping. To be extra healthy when I needed a drink I went for a lovely berry blend of strawberry, rasberry and blueberry with applejuice and lowfat frozen yoghurt. Feel the natural goodness. I then went home.

ALl in all an ok restart to my 10000 step challenge even if today I only clocked up 5889 steps. Tomorrow I will get more hopefully. Erddig here we come (I've promised K a nationaltrust membership)
