For the geeks with money
Aug. 2nd, 2006 04:11 pmGoing under the hammer are a load of Star Trek memorabilia that (in my honest larpers' opinion) I can make at home...with a small aubergine!
Admittedly not all of them I can make at home but some and would look as cool but of course would not have the kudos of being from the actual show.
Not that I would make stuff but just look at the shines you can buy...
Oh and can anyone tell me why I am getting e-mails about online banking from a bank I don't use??? I'd be worried but it does seem to link to the correct site and all.

Changing My Ways...
Mar. 17th, 2006 08:55 amI have now finally taken the time to change my lj appearance, all so I can add a few links.
You might think this would be an easy switch. After all the s2 layout is easy to use and the layout choices do cover the one I have. However my choice of colours is slightly unique...
So I read the source code for my old layout, and fiddled with the customise function that allows you to set your own colours (anyone watching during this will have seen my page change back and forth for at least ten minutes). I finally managed to find a combination that takes what I liked from my old colour scheme but conveniently removed the things I hated.
It's still dark so those with dimmed down screens but nicer combination of colours. Also fixes the rather random change that occurred to my friends page recently without my knowledge. I think someone changed the style sheet I was using.
Anyway my nice shiny links are now to the left so anyone needing them will find them quicker.

Make that Opera sing....
Oct. 15th, 2005 08:21 pmRight I have some good news and some bad news. Unfortunately there is no punchline.
I'm bouncy because for the first time since starting the 10000 step challenge I actually managed it. 10055 steps! Good going at Erddig as we got lost in the Big Wood <-- see the ingenuity when naming. Almost every turn, we were going in the opposite way to the arrows.
The bad news is I'm unlikely to get to 10000 steps tomorrow unless I can work out how to code while walking. Seems I have two extra browsers to recode for. Mind you I think some of the problems would have been solved if I'd done it correctly to start with. Well that's what you get for learning as you go along. But at least the next site I do will be better from the word go and will work in all browsers at once with minimum fuss.
Teas so far: Three. One of them a lovely flavoured easter tea picked with my new randomization method. Picking a number from 1 to 40 and counting the tins until I get to it.

Did they recommend this?
Sep. 18th, 2005 11:45 amI applauded the use before of the recommend feature of Amazon.fr in remembering what on earth you really wanted on a site that holds much too much of interest. On that note, K was recently looking at her recommendations on Amazon.co.uk to see if there was anything of interest.
As most of you probably know it takes info on what you've already bought to determine what to suggest. Suffice to say the new cricket books did result in books from almost every other sport.
However among the recommendations were two unlikely suspects.
1. Jamie Oliver's Cookbook
2. Trinny and Suzanna's What Not To Wear
There is a handy 'why did you recommend this' button available for those of a curious bent and so we checked.
"We have recommended this as you previously bought 'Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Special extended edition'"
Is this some strange mistype or is it as we feared that Amazon truly believes that all fans of the LOTR need to learn how to cook and dress better? Geeks and Boffins beware, Amazon is on to you!
Teas so far: none but about to remedy that.
