1. No matter how witty you want to be, when you start to type you'll forget everything

2. Lurching like a zombie is strangely more dignified than waddling like a lame duck

3. Minute taking makes my handwriting more irratic and illegible than usual

4. Despite having only emptied the books from the two bookshelves I'm now filling, they will still fill more space when being returned to them.

5. Even I can make my tea too hot to drink

That is all...

So things that occured to me to just say because I'm knackered without having had the benefit of being up late and am in bed with a laptop on my knee.

* Training people who are actually interested and understand what you are on about makes a huge difference. I rather like it. I actually want to do it again.

* [livejournal.com profile] choccoweeble thinks I haven't done anything to deserve being ill so I am forbidden from getting the lurgy damn it! But she's not getting me tea unless I can convincingly prove that I am 100% well.

* It still surprises me every time someone likes something I made. Especially when it comes out slightly wrong.

* The Babylon 5 pilot isn't as bad as I remember it but really isn't good either. I only have and watch it for completism.

* If my Maelstrom character dies I have insane ideas about being a travelling tea seller with "tea for every occasion"

* I can write very depressing poetry for someone who is mostly cheery :)

So I have two days in lieu of the weekend that I am working. That's tomorrow and Friday just so you know. I've decided (now that I'm healthy and full of random energy) to create a list of things I really need to do and see how far I get. I'm putting it up here for general amusement and the fact that I can't lose this page but never find that scrap of paper I wrote things on. So in no particular order...

Cut for waffly length )

Right we'll see how far I get
shazrasha: (Default)
Cut for randomness and length )

And boy was it hard trying to make sure I was referencing the right year...
shazrasha: (upgrade)
I'm placing this here as I think it might be interesting for others to see what I use up my time on.
Plus without the list I'm sure I'll forget something.

In no particular order.

* Make herb pouch for my Larp herb bottles.
* Make teddy outfits for this weekend (I can't explain why, it's a Secret shhh...)
* Clean up craft room
* Phone Landlord about central heating inspection
* Sort Clean clothes mountain
* Start on Artie's scrapbook
* Print out info and send with cheque for artificer (Yes [livejournal.com profile] jenna_elise I should have done it last week but [livejournal.com profile] choccoweeble was having name issues.)
* Design bag for [livejournal.com profile] choccoweeble
* Work on remaking my armour for Maelstrom
shazrasha: (Doctor)
Right [livejournal.com profile] taram_42 gave me the letter B to work with when I commented on her list. So things that start with B...

Note: if you comment I'll tag you with a letter.

1. Books - Because I love to read
2. Blue - that colour of the sky at dawn and dusk
3. Bolas - Because as weapons go it can also be a belt. Lethal and practical ;)
4. Bananas - Because... uhm..uh..Ah yes...Potassium is good for you
5. Beaches - For walking on and swimming near.
6. Bears - Furry and cute, but also deadly... or should that be deadly but also cute and fluffy?
7. Boxes - Because you can never be sure what is in them
8. Borders - So that you have some to cross in your adventures
9. Brother - Because even if he is annoying sometimes he makes me smile at the silliest things.
10. Blue footed Boobies! - because they have funkiest feet and just the thought of them cheers me right up.

Man that took a bit of thought and I really am strange.

Ok so technically my Monday hasn't been that manic just yet. But I still have the evening to come and I might just be really focused and get soem stuff done.

Inpired by [livejournal.com profile] midnightoak I've decided to make a list ). This mainly to have the satisfaction of crossing things off :D

In other news I am fed up of not taking my health seriously so I am going to see about joining Slimmers world. because I already know that I'm not motivated enough to get myself going on my own. Fortunately their method of food control is eat as much as you want of the healthy stuff so no actual dieting going on. To make it better I'm even walking there so I can feel a little more active and less like I rely on my car, should only take me 20 mins. The meeting is on Tuesday so more on that later in the week.

I've also organised to go play badminton on Wednesday which is something that I have seriously been missing. I do so enjoy the sport.

Comment with the words "Top Ten" or "Top Five", and I will reply with a subject for which you will generate a top ten (or top five) list. Post the list and instructions in your own journal...

[livejournal.com profile] grampus">
Top Five places I would love to spend next christmas.

1. With my Aunt Cecilia in East Sweden (near Stockholm). There is something to be said about having a huge family Christmas with all the trimmings (even with a lack of snow)

2. In Wales with my parents because I get the benefit of a lively family Christmas but twice ;)

3. Uhm in Chester with K and a group of our friends because insane things happen when we mix.

4. North Sweden with [livejournal.com profile] greydar for the above reasons and the increased chance to have snow.

5. Uhm uh. I seem to have issues even with just five to pick :P Oh just thought of one. With my Aunt Linzy, who seems to compete with Cecilia for being the craziest of my aunts, in south england with another family party...

Hmm that was hard work. :D
shazrasha: (jenkins beware)
I had a rather random conversation with K last night about games we used to play as children in the playground. I really have no recollection of how we ended up on that topic, but we did. Two things should be noted about childhood games.

1. We all played them and there were lots of them, and No, some of them don't make sense.
2. Just because we recognise the names of each others games does not mean we share the same memory of the rules.

This is what I remember playing. Behind cuts as the explanations with make this long.

What's the Time Mr Wolf> )

Mother May I? )

Crocodile, Crocodile, may I cross your golden river? )

Stick in the Mud )

Bulldog )

British Bulldog )

Scarlett Letter )

Nuts, Bolts and Screws )

So do you have any games you used to play that I haven't listed? Or do you have alternate rules to ones that I have? If so I'm rather curious to hear them. :) I'm in a childish mood

OK so New Years is a time of reflection and making of resolutions that inevitable get broken during the first month. Well I'm not going to make resolutions. I have an action plan instead. A simple plan in four or five parts.

1. Buy Pedometer (I've felt bereft ever since I broke my old one, that and K came up to me and asked me if she could get me one after watching some health program on the telly. All my commenting on me trying to be healthier and it takes a program with scare tactics to get her to realise what I wanted to do all along)

2. Organise more activities for me to do over weekends

3. Try to make sure I write something every day. For any story

4. Reorganise the office (a bit tricky to do right now with our unexpected house guests. K's car broke down again so her parents have come to help her.)

So I have a live todo list that I carry around with me on my usb pen. Obviously I need a computer to read it but I know most of it by heart anyway.

However I have been adding new things to it recently and discovered an annoying fact. No matter how much free time I have, without motivation and much prodding I seriously can not muster the energy to do more than sit around. This seriously bugs me. Not just a little, it's a mountain full of bugs.

Why because I really want to do all the things on my list but faced with all of them and no deadlines I just stop.

Hmm so this evening I am going to see what I can get done by giving myself some deadlines for stuff that really should be done soon. Any bets on how well I will actually do?

p.s It should be noted I did finish Spoon on the night [livejournal.com profile] midnightoak bet me. I just wasn't fast enough for 7.

...Is something I have to try and do. That and offering gifts I haven't made yet.

I seem to be offering slices of my time that in truth I don't actually have, at least not in abundance. Unless I take drastic measures and turn hermit for a week.

It's hard to admit but yes I am sometimes too helpful for my own good. I offer my services without thinking how much time I actually have. This is not to say I don't enjoy each and every thing I do, it's just that I forget how fast I get swamped.

To give you an idea of how bad I can be, I offered a drawing as a present three years ago. It has yet to be painted. The miniature that I offered for someone's birthday has been modeled but no paint has come near it. Clothes for a soft toy, designed but not made (and I've had it a year).

Add to all this that I have agreed to make a kilt and a website for schaffhausen. The first was a learning experience in itself. But it should now be known that should anyone else need a kilt, it's not that tricky to make and I can make them to any size and cheaper than buying a real one. (It will also be quicker now I know how) You just need to decide how valuable you think my time is. ;)

The website will also increase my knowledge of website building so I am happy to do it especially as it is a project I have a stake in. Or rather a beak.

But all this is on top of the innummerable projects I set myself - some that I have not touched in ages but really want to finish.
So I ask those that know me, seriously, Save me from myself! ;)

EDIT: Alternatively actually prodding me and giving me deadlines works wonders - These have benefited from that - Maelstrom and The Fallen.
shazrasha: (Default)
So as most of my nearest and dearest (and those that read this) know I have been working on my costume for Maelstrom. I have been mentioning my mask to [livejournal.com profile] midnightoak as I progress step by step. Once I am done with it I will put the pictures up on Flikr. However I have other parts of my costume to finish. And to show [livejournal.com profile] midnightoak how much, I am writing a list here.

Cut for length and Only Midnightoak would be truly interested )

On another note both K and I had strange dreams (as usual). Mine involved an island where we were ship-wrecked, a storm coming and the only shelter being cells that a mad man would lock us into, so he could use us in some strange experiment/tv game show. :P
K in her dream was however blackmailing us all. And boy did she find our weakness ;)

"Do as I say or I'll delete your LJs!"

EDIT: Just getting on with it.
