So on Saturday I was invited by my work collegue to join her and others in watching the Sankta Lucia celebration at Liverpool Cathedral. This one not that one.

The celebration used to be held at the Scandinavian Seamen's Church down on the docks but was moved to the Cathedral due to its popularity.

The evening concluded with a lovely dinner in a Mexican restaurant before I headed for the train and my bed. Definately worth it.

Rules copied from [livejournal.com profile] lucian_albrecht

"The rules are as follows: set your ipod/itunes/laptop/whatever to shuffle. Take the first 25 songs that are not instrumental, do not have their title in the first line, and are not by an artist that already appears.

Then list their first lines and get your mates to identify them (without using a search engine). They, presumably, will mock your musical tastes, or lack thereof, at this stage."

I shuffled my entire computer music collection... Man I had some interesting stuff in there that I had forgotten about. And yes forrin ones included but only two.

So another weekend round up as I tried to steer clear of my computer during the weekend due to the head cold I'd been sporting. Computer induced headaches when I really should know better...

Anyway it was mum's birthday on saturday so we decided to go with her to ExpandThe Moo MOO )

We ended the day, after the wet dark drive home with K going to see Murphy armed with a torch.

Well after a discussion about the songs we had stuck in our heads last night (I had Rihanna's Unfaithful and K had Kenny the Kangaroo – with the added boings) we went on to discuss songs that we had misheard the lyrics too.
Mainly due to K mentioning what she had listened to at work and how she had heard it wrong.

Among the contenders for best in song were:

I think I'd better Deep Fry it now – By Will Young (Courtesy of my Dad)

I am the Lord of the Dance Settee! – As sung by K for years until she saw what it really was...

And the final one that had K in hysterics – Wii wii girl by The Pet Shop Boys. Hysterics not helped by the fact that she had misheard what I had said and had thought they were saying "want it back" Or some such
(The spelling is due to the now classic Nintendo joke)

So I am now 5 days and counting to going to Maelstrom and I am rushing to get everything ready. Especially since reading the laws of the land that will take affect at Shenanigans.

So all this has me sewing like mad to finish my extra costume stuff. Extra pouches and such like. However this has involved a lot of sewing with a leather needle so I am now sporting various plasters and sewing related injuries to my hands again.

I also got my Sandi Thom album today. It isn't out for general release until the 5th but I have paid for it and it is aaaaaaaaaaall mine. *cough* there are quite a few good tracks on this, the single non-withstanding. I especially like "when horsepower meant what it said" and "what if I'm right".
