What's wrong with my cake?!
Aug. 19th, 2005 08:43 amIt's the age old question. You've followed the recipe to the letter. You've made sure the oven is at the temperature mentioned and you put the cake in for the length of time stated.
And then the inevitable occurs... You pull the cake from the oven and it's undercooked AND over cooked. It has risen too much and not enough and sticks to the pan.
All I can say is thank God they still taste nice. However somewhere deep within me I wish I had the book my mum mentioned that stated how to correct the things that make the cake fail. That and an actual flapjack dish would be good.
But no it seems trial and error will be my constant companion though I will start with lowering the oven temperature.
Maybe next time.
