shazrasha: (jenkins beware)

Right to avoid going overboard with this I am pouring out my lego enthusiasm in one dose so those that wish to avoid it can just skip this post. :P

I blame Legostar Galactica, in part, for the sudden revival of enthusiasm I have for my lego. That, and [livejournal.com profile] lucian_albrecht trying to locate lego pirates. I spent several hours at the end of last week trawling lego sites and ebay as a way to keep myself awake at work.

So by Saturday, I was desperately wanting to buy some lego ninja and the star wars scout walker. Of course the ninja being too old to be part of the available boxes, I had to try alternate methods of locating one.

So I decided to trawl ebay. Now I haven't bought more than one item off ebay before and that was a buy now item. The prospect of attempting to bid is not fun for me. However I found an item I really liked and started to track it happily. Until I realised that the bidding would end when I was up a mountain with no civilisation about.

That would normally have been the end of it but 3 and a half hours before the end of bidding, with noone else so far showing an interest I thought, "Well it can't hurt to just put in a max bid. If I get it then swell, if not I can spend the money elsewhere."

Much to my surprise at the top of the mountain later that day, I get a phone call from [livejournal.com profile] midnightoak saying "you got your ninja"

I also when shopping found the new creator pods that are cool not just for the random builds they give you, but also because you can use the box/pod as part of the construction. :D

Now I just need to fight the urge to make a strange d&d, ninja, knights and CSI lego comic thing. All because the lego man with my Fire truck looks so like a lego version of Gil Grissom.

I seem to have gone link mad in this entry. I think [livejournal.com profile] lucian_albrecht would be proud.

EDIT: I forgot to add I did find that I had 6 figures from the pirate range. 2 soldiers, one pirate captain, one mate, one pirate wench and a monkey!

He really does as well. I encourage any such kind of madness, it makes me look like the sane one ;)
